Why is my payment failing
Payment failures can be frustrating, but they're often easy to resolve. The reasons your payment is failing depend on which platform you're booking through: Holidu, Booking.com, or Airbnb. Below, we've outlined the most common causes and solutions for each.
Payment failing on Booking.com
When booking through Booking.com, the payment process depends on your selected payment option.
If you chose "Pay Now"
Booking.com manages your payment directly, and Holidu does not have access to your payment details. If your payment is failing, please contact Booking.com's customer service via chat or phone call for assistance.
If you selected "Pay On Arrival"
Holidu processes this payment. If it's failing, check the following reasons:
- Payment authentication issue: You must authorize the payment via the secure payment link sent to your email. This may require confirmation in your banking app or entering a code, TAN, or PIN sent by your bank.
- Insufficient funds: Ensure your account has enough balance to cover the payment.
- Withdrawal amount exceeded: Your bank may have set a daily, weekly, or monthly spending limit. Check your banking app or contact your bank.
- Payment method supported: Use a valid payment method. We accept Credit Card, PayPal, iDeal (The Netherlands), Klarna (Austria, Germany, and The Netherlands), or Sofort.
- Invalid or declined card details: Common issues include incorrect CVC number, invalid or expired card number, blocked or restricted card, or cancelled card. Check with your bank to confirm your card's status.
- Too many failed attempts: If you've made 5 or more unsuccessful attempts, transactions may be temporarily blocked. Wait 1-2 hours before trying again, or use an alternative payment method.
