How do I verify my account as an incorporated partnership (GbR or Grundstücksgemeinschaften)?
Important: This process can only be completed by the host (the primary holder on Holidu).
We'll guide you step by step through the verification process for your incorporated partnership. The process is secure, and you'll provide your information in a protected online environment.
Understanding: Incorporated vs. Unincorporated Partnerships
⚠️ Important: Know the difference
An incorporated partnership IS registered in a trade/commercial register and is a separate legal entity. Examples include:
- Germany: GbR (Gesellschaft bürgerlichen Rechts), Grundstücksgemeinschaft, OHG, KG, GmbH & Co. KG
- France: SARL, SAS, EIRL
- Spain: S.L., S.A.
- Other countries: Limited partnerships and registered business entities
An unincorporated partnership is NOT registered in a commercial register and is NOT a separate legal entity. Partners are personally liable.
Rule of thumb: If your partnership has a Handelsregisternummer (DE), is in the Registre du commerce (FR), or is listed in any official commercial register → you are an Incorporated Partnership and should follow this guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between a GbR and an incorporated partnership?
A GbR (Gesellschaft bürgerlichen Rechts) is typically an unincorporated partnership in Germany. However, if your GbR is registered in the Handelsregister (commercial register), it becomes a Grundstücksgemeinschaft or other incorporated form and should be verified using this guide.
What if my partnership doesn't have a formal business registration?
If your partnership is not registered in a commercial register, it's likely an unincorporated partnership. Please use the separate guide for unincorporated partnerships instead.
Can I verify as an individual if I'm part of an incorporated partnership?
No. Incorporated partnerships must be verified as organizations, not as individuals. The primary representative (person signing with Holidu) will still need to verify their identity, but the account itself represents the partnership.
How long does the verification process take?
Using Instant Verification for bank accounts and identity documents, most verifications complete within minutes to hours. If you use Manual Upload, allow up to 72 hours for each step. The complete process typically takes up to two weeks.
What if my documents are rejected?
If a document is rejected, you'll receive feedback explaining why. Common reasons include unclear images, missing information, or documents older than 12 months. Re-upload corrected documents or provide new ones.
Can I change my bank account after verification?
Yes. You can update your bank account information in your account settings, but it will need to be re-verified following the same process.
