How is your payout calculated?
Understanding how your payout is calculated helps you manage your earnings with confidence. Here's a simple breakdown of the process and factors that affect your final payout amount.
Payout calculation breakdown
Your payout is based on the nightly rate you set in your Holidu Host account. However, certain deductions and adjustments may apply.
Key components of your payout
- Base nightly rate: The price you've set for your property in your Holidu Host account (for example, €350 per night)
- Distribution channel commission: When your property is advertised on other booking platforms, they charge a commission that is added to the guest's price—not deducted from your payout
- Discounts: Any discounts you've set up (such as 10% off for stays of 7 nights or more) are deducted from your base price
- Holidu commission: Holidu applies a commission (typically 6%) to your base price, which is deducted from your payout
- VAT: Value Added Tax is also deducted from your earnings when applicable
Example payout calculation
Here's how your final payout is determined:
- Nightly rate (set by you): €350
- Stay duration: 2 nights
- Discount applied: 10% reduction to €315 per night
- Total earnings before deductions: €315 × 2 = €630
- Holidu commission (6%): −€35.91
- VAT (19%): −€33.99
- Final payout: €560.10
Why was my payout lower than expected?
Holidu uses a balance concept to streamline transactions. If we have already paid a sum and changes occur to your booking or free cancellations are processed, we subtract the adjustment from your next payout rather than requesting a separate deposit.
