Discounts are one of the most effective ways to attract more guests, increase your visibility on booking channels, and fill gaps in your calendar. This guide will help you set up discounts in your Holidu account in just a few minutes.
How to Set Up Discounts in Your Account
Follow these simple steps to activate discounts:
- Log in to your Holidu Host account
- Navigate to Configuration → Discounts
- Choose the discount type you want to activate
- Click Configure and set your parameters (percentage, dates, minimum stay duration)
- Click Activate to save your settings
All discount options are organized into two main sections: Attract more guests with discounts and Smart ways to fill your calendar.
Types of Discounts Available
New Listing Discount
Automatically applied to your first 3 confirmed bookings. Default discount: 20%.
- Eligible for properties with fewer than 3 confirmed bookings
- Cannot be combined with other discounts
- Takes priority over all other offers
Early-Bird Discount
Reward guests who book well in advance. Set your preferred discount percentage and the number of days before arrival.
Last-Minute Discount
Fill calendar gaps by offering discounts for upcoming stays. Choose your discount percentage and how many days before arrival the offer applies.
Note: Early-Bird and Last-Minute Discounts are dynamic. This means they automatically adjust depending on the booking date. For example, if you set a Last-Minute Discount for the next 7 days, it will always apply to bookings made "today" for stays within those 7 days.
Weekly Discount
Apply discounts to bookings of 7 nights or more. Set your preferred percentage and activate.
Loyalty Discount
Offer special rates to frequent travellers on Booking.com and Holidu to encourage repeat bookings.
Mobile User Discount
Attract guests booking from mobile devices via Booking.com and Holidu with a dedicated mobile discount.
Non-Refundable Cancellation Policy Discount
Offer guests a lower rate in exchange for a non-refundable cancellation policy.
- Go to Configuration → Cancellation Policies
- Find the Non-Refundable option under your standard policies
- Choose your discount percentage (10%, 15%, or 20%) and activate
This discount can be combined with any other active discount, except the New Listing Discount.
Peak Night Discount Exclusion
Protect your highest-demand nights from discounting while still attracting bookings during slower periods. Choose between:
- Tier 1 – Peak Demand: Excludes your absolute highest-demand nights
- Tier 2 – Peak + High Demand: Excludes the highest-demand nights plus a wider range of high-demand nights
Supported on: Weekly discount, Early bird discount, and Mobile discount.
Additional Ways to Fill Your Calendar
Beyond discounts, consider these flexible stay options:
Important: How Discounts Stack Together
Cumulative Discounts: Most discounts multiply together. For example, with a €100 night, a 30% Early Bird discount and a 40% Length-of-Stay discount would result in: €100 × (1 − 0.4) × (1 − 0.3) = €42.
Exception – New Listing Discount: Does not stack with any other discount. If it applies, no other discount will apply for that booking.
Booking Website Discount: The Booking Website discount (5%, 10%, or 15%) stacks with all other discounts except the New Listing discount.
This stacking system protects you from selling below your minimum rate and helps you stay profitable. Multiple discounts on a single booking is normal and not an error.
