Discounts are one of the most effective ways to attract more guests, increase your visibility on booking channels, and fill gaps in your calendar. This guide will walk you through setting up discounts in your Holidu host account in just a few minutes.

Where to find discount settings

All discount options are organized in your host account under Configuration → Discounts, divided into two main sections:

  • Attract more guests with discounts
  • Smart ways to fill your calendar

How to set up discounts

  1. Log in to your Holidu Host account
  2. Navigate to Configuration → Discounts
  3. Choose the discount type you want to activate
  4. Click Configure, set your parameters (percentage, dates, minimum stay duration), and click Activate to save

Discount types available

New Listing Discount

This discount is automatically applied to your first 3 confirmed bookings, making your new property more competitive from day one.

  • Default discount: 20%
  • Eligibility: Properties with fewer than 3 confirmed bookings
  • Important: This discount cannot be combined with other discounts and takes priority over all other offers

Discount for Mobile Users

Attract guests booking from mobile devices on Booking.com and Holidu by offering them a special mobile discount. Simply configure your preferred percentage and activate.

Loyalty Discount

Encourage repeat bookings by offering a discount to frequent travellers on Booking.com and Holidu. This helps build long-term relationships with your best guests.

Early-Bird Discount

Perfect for guests who plan ahead and book well in advance. Set your discount percentage and specify how many days before arrival the discount applies.

Last-Minute Discount

Fill calendar gaps by offering discounts for upcoming stays. Choose your discount percentage and how many days before arrival it should apply.

Weekly Discount

Encourage longer stays by applying a discount to bookings of 7 nights or more. Simply set your percentage and activate.

Note: Early-Bird and Last-Minute Discounts are dynamic. This means they automatically adjust depending on the booking date. For example, if you set a Last-Minute Discount for the next 7 days, it will always apply to bookings made "today" for stays within those 7 days.

Peak Night Discount Exclusion

Protect your highest-demand nights from being discounted while still offering deals during slower periods. When enabled, the system automatically identifies your peak-demand nights and excludes them from applicable discounts.

Supported with: Weekly discount, Early Bird discount, Mobile discount

Protection options:

  • Tier 1 – Peak Demand: Excludes your absolute highest-demand nights
  • Tier 2 – Peak + High Demand: Excludes the highest-demand nights plus a wider range of high-demand nights

Non-Refundable Cancellation Policy Discount

Offer guests a lower rate in exchange for accepting a non-refundable cancellation policy:

  1. Go to Configuration → Cancellation Policies
  2. Find the Non-Refundable option under your standard policies
  3. Choose your discount percentage (10%, 15%, or 20%) and activate

This discount can be combined with any other active discount, except the New Listing Discount.

Smart ways to fill your calendar

Beyond discounts, consider these flexible stay options to make your property more attractive:

Important things to know about discount stacking

How discounts work together: Most discounts are cumulative and multiply together. For example, with a €100 night, a 30% Early Bird discount, and a 40% Length-of-Stay discount would calculate as: €100 × (1 − 0.4) × (1 − 0.3) = €42.

Exception: The New Listing Discount does not stack with any other discount. When it applies, no other discount will apply for that booking.

Booking Website Discount: The Booking Website discount (5%, 10%, or 15%) stacks with all other discounts except the New Listing discount.

Why stacking works this way: Cumulative discounts protect you from selling below your minimum rate, helping you stay profitable and preventing accidental negative pricing.

Key takeaway

By combining strategic discounts and flexible stay conditions, you can boost your visibility, fill your calendar more effectively, and attract more guests while maintaining healthy profit margins. Start with one or two discount types and adjust based on your booking patterns and local market demand.
