How can I set up discounts in my account?
Offering discounts is one of the most effective ways to attract more guests, increase your visibility on booking platforms, and fill calendar gaps. This guide will walk you through all available discount options in your Holidu Host account.
Getting Started with Discounts
To access your discount settings, follow these simple steps:
- Log in to your Holidu Host account
- Navigate to Configuration → Discounts
- Choose the discount type you want to activate
- Click Configure, adjust the parameters (percentage, dates, minimum stay duration), and click Activate to save
All discount options are organized into two main sections: discounts to attract guests and flexible conditions to encourage more bookings.
Attract More Guests with Discounts
New Listing Discount
Automatically applied to your first 3 confirmed bookings on a new property.
- Default discount: 20%
- If a booking is cancelled, it doesn't count toward the three
- Discount remains active until 3 confirmed bookings are reached
Important: This discount cannot be combined with other discounts and always takes priority.
Discount for Mobile Users
Attract guests booking from mobile devices across Booking.com, Holidu, and GoogleVR. Simply configure your preferred discount percentage and activate it.
Loyalty Discount
Offer a fixed 10% discount to frequent travelers on Booking.com and Holidu. Activate by clicking Configure, then Activate.
Early-Bird Discount
Perfect for guests who book well in advance. Select your discount percentage and specify how many days before arrival the discount applies.
Last-Minute Discount
Fill calendar gaps by offering discounts for upcoming stays. Choose your discount percentage and the number of days before arrival when it becomes active.
Weekly Discount
Apply a discount to bookings of 7 nights or more. Select your percentage and activate.
Note: Early-Bird and Last-Minute Discounts are dynamic. This means they automatically adjust depending on the booking date. For example, if you set a Last-Minute Discount for the next 7 days, it will always apply to bookings made "today" for stays within those 7 days.
Get More Bookings with Flexible Conditions
Beyond discounts, make your property more attractive by offering flexible stay options:
Configure each option based on your property's booking patterns and local demand.
Non-Refundable Cancellation Policy Discount
Offer guests a lower rate in exchange for a non-refundable cancellation policy:
- Go to Configuration → Cancellation Policies
- Find the Non-Refundable option under your standard policies
- Select your discount percentage (10%, 15%, or 20%) and activate
This discount can be combined with any other active discount, except the New Listing Discount.
How Discounts Work Together
Cumulative Discounts: Most discounts (Early Bird, Last Minute, Length-of-Stay, Mobile, Weekly, and Booking Website) are cumulative and multiply together. For example, on a €100 night with 30% Early Bird and 40% Length-of-Stay discounts, the calculation is: €100 × (1-0.4) × (1-0.3) = €42.
Exception – New Listing Discount: This discount does not stack with any other discount. If applied, no other discount including Booking Website discounts will apply to that booking.
Booking Website Discount: The Booking Website discount (5%, 10%, or 15%) stacks with all other discounts except New Listing discount.
Why Stacking Matters: Cumulative discounts protect you from selling below minimum rates, helping maintain profitability and prevent accidental negative pricing.
