How does Holidu Protect work?

Holidu Protect, powered by Truvi, is an optional damage protection service designed to replace traditional security deposits. For €3 per booked night, your property receives comprehensive protection against guest damages up to €50,000. This article explains how the service works and what you need to know as a host.

What is Holidu Protect?

Holidu Protect is a damage protection service that automatically covers your property against guest damage instead of collecting security deposits. Once activated, the €3 per night fee is automatically deducted from your payout, and your property is covered for all future Holidu bookings across supported platforms, including Airbnb. There is no subscription required, and you can deactivate it at any time.

How Guest Screening Works

When Holidu Protect is active, every guest is screened for potential risks after a confirmed booking. The screening process results in one of three outcomes:

  • Approved: Full €50,000 coverage is granted in 99.5% of cases
  • Flagged: Limited coverage up to €1,000 applies (approximately 1 out of 300 bookings)
  • Rejected: Booking is canceled automatically without penalties or fees to you

You can view the screening status and any flags or rejections directly in your booking details.

What Changes When Holidu Protect is Active

Activating Holidu Protect automatically disables security deposits for your property. This removes a potential barrier that may discourage bookings. Guests prefer properties without deposit requirements, and Holidu Protect provides the same financial protection without the friction.
