Where Can I Configure Amenities?
Configuring amenities for your property is a straightforward process that helps guests find and book your listing. Here's how to set up and manage your amenities on Holidu.
How to Configure Amenities
To update your amenities, follow these simple steps:
- Log in to your Holidu account
- Select the property you wish to modify
- Scroll down and click on "Amenities"
- Activate or deactivate any amenities by selecting or unselecting them
- Your changes are saved automatically
Please note that it may take up to 24 hours for your amenity updates to appear across all distribution platforms where your listing is advertised.
After configuring your amenities, make sure to update your property description to reflect any changes and provide guests with accurate information.
Top Amenities Guests Ask About
Our customer service data shows these are the amenities guests inquire about most before booking. If your property offers any of these, make sure they are properly configured:
- Wi-Fi – Specify if it's suitable for video calls and remote working
- Pets – Indicate the number or types of pets allowed
- Baby Equipment – Note availability of baby cots and high chairs, quantities, and any extra fees
- Bicycle/Motorbike Storage – Specify capacity and whether storage is inside, outside, or sheltered
- Early Check-in/Late Check-out – Indicate if there are additional charges
- Air Conditioning – Specify which rooms have A/C (note: A/C can only be configured if available throughout the property)
- Parking – Clarify if it's at the property or nearby, and whether spots are shared or private
- Accessible Access – Indicate step-free entry, mobility-friendly interiors, and lift availability
- Heated Pool – Specify if heating is year-round and any additional charges
- Shared Pool – Note how many other guests share the facility
Important Guidelines for Amenity Configuration
Keep these best practices in mind when configuring your amenities:
- All configured amenities must be legally available for free and at all times, unless a fee is configurable (such as baby cots, high chairs, or towels)
- If an item is only available for a fee, it cannot be configured as an amenity and won't be filterable on booking platforms
- Providing amenities for free (where possible) is more appealing to guests than charging additional fees
- If an amenity cannot be configured in the system, you can include it in your property description instead
When You Make Changes to Amenities
It's crucial to keep your configuration up-to-date and inform affected guests of any changes:
- Always notify future guests about changes that could negatively impact their stay
- Obtain written confirmation that they accept the new configuration
- If guests refuse to accept changes, you must offer free cancellation since you cannot provide what they originally booked
- Consider offering a small discount to guests as an alternative to cancellation
Keeping your amenity configuration accurate and current helps prevent booking cancellations, compensation claims, and maintains your reputation with guests and booking platforms.
