Organic Welcome Baskets
What are organic welcome baskets?
Organic welcome baskets are curated gift packages containing locally-sourced, organic products from Mallorca that you can provide to your guests upon arrival. Holidu has partnered with APAEMA, a non-profit association dedicated to organic agriculture in Mallorca, to offer hosts this exclusive opportunity starting from April 1st, 2024.
What is APAEMA, and why does Holidu collaborate with them?
APAEMA (Associació de Productors d'Agricultura Ecológica de Mallorca) is a Mallorcan non-profit association focused on defending organic agriculture. They support the island's farmers through various initiatives, including providing a collective kitchen for members to produce higher-value products. Their partners' work protects the territory through agricultural practices that respect the land while ensuring a supply of quality, tasty, healthy, and sustainable local products.
Holidu collaborates with APAEMA because agricultural production and distribution represent one-fifth of the carbon footprint generated by tourism. This partnership allows guests to discover the island through its gastronomy and learn about the people and work behind local products, while supporting sustainable farming practices.
Why invest in organic welcome baskets?
Investing in organic welcome baskets enhances your guests' experience in several ways. The surprise element upon arrival creates highly positive first impressions of their trip. Additionally, you raise awareness about the role food plays in climate change while guests discover local products and the farmers who produce them.
Benefits of offering organic welcome baskets include:
- Supporting Mallorcan farmers who protect the territory
- Receiving better reviews for your property
- Improving your listing performance
- Offering an exclusive initiative available only to Holidu hosts
