How to Add a Manual Calendar Block
Adding a manual calendar block allows you to block specific dates when your property is unavailable. Follow these steps to add a block to your calendar:
- Log into your Holidu Host account and enter your credentials
- Navigate to the Calendar section located at the top of your dashboard
- Look for the Availability area on the right side and click the Block button
- Choose between Manual Booking (for personal stays) or Date Block (to simply block the dates without extra details)
- Select your start date by clicking on the calendar
- Click on the end date you want to block
- On the right side, click Confirm dates to proceed
- Fill in the required information in the pop-up form that appears
- Click Save to apply the changes to your calendar
Your calendar will now display the blocked dates, preventing guests from booking during that period.
How to Delete a Manual Calendar Block
If you need to remove a previously created calendar block, you can do so in just a few steps:
- Access your Holidu Host account and go to the Calendar section
- Find the specific blocked dates you want to remove and click on them
- From the menu that appears, select Remove Block
- Confirm your action if prompted by the system
- Save your changes to ensure the calendar is updated
Once deleted, the dates will become available for new bookings again.
Important Considerations for Calendar Management
To make the most of your calendar management, keep these best practices in mind:
- Keep your calendar updated regularly to prevent double bookings and maximize your occupancy rates
- If you require at least one day to clean the property before a new guest checks in, manually block that date as soon as possible. There is currently no automatic cleaning buffer feature available
- If you do not want to have a check-in on the same day as a check-out, block that date manually
- Note that there is currently no way to set an automated opening or closing for bookings based on lead time (for example, after 9, 12, or 18 months). To control availability beyond a certain timeframe, you must manually block or unblock the relevant dates
- Consider opting out of the copy price campaign and setting prices for only the periods you wish to accept bookings for more control over your availability
- Periodically review and adjust your calendar blocks to capture every possible booking opportunity and maintain optimal occupancy
