How can I add/delete an iCal calendar?
Keeping your calendar up to date helps you avoid double bookings and capture the bookings you receive across channels. Whether you're adding a new iCal calendar or removing an existing one, this step-by-step guide walks you through the process. Let's get started.
How do I add an iCal calendar?
Adding an iCal calendar to your account helps you keep your availability aligned across channels. Follow the steps below:
- Log in to your Holidu Host Account
- Go to Configuration on the top-left side
- Scroll down to the iCal & Synchronization section
- Add a new calendar:
- Click on Configure
- Select your desired channel (Other if yours doesn't appear in the list)
- Enter calendar details:
- Paste the iCal URL from your external calendar provider
- Name your calendar for easy reference
- Important: Don't forget to copy and paste your Holidu Host iCal link in Section 2 in your external provider page
- Save your changes:
- Click Save to finalise the addition of your iCal calendar
By following these steps, your calendar should now be in sync, helping you avoid double bookings and missed opportunities.
How can I delete an iCal calendar?
If you need to remove an iCal calendar — perhaps because of a change in listing or sync errors — it's just as straightforward. Here's how:
- Log in to your Holidu Host Account
- Go to Configuration on the top-left side
- Scroll down to the iCal & Synchronization section
- Click on Edit on the iCal already configured
- Click on Delete and confirm
Your calendar will be removed, helping you keep your booking management clean and precise.
What if I see overlapping bookings?
If you've noticed dates appearing in red on your calendar, it means there are overlapping bookings. This happens when two bookings coincide, often due to an issue with iCal synchronisation. In some cases, external calendar syncs may mirror each other, unintentionally creating duplicates.
To resolve this, double-check your synced calendars and ensure there are no conflicting entries. If the issue persists, reviewing your integration settings may help prevent future overlaps.
Additional tips
- Sync your calendars regularly so your availability stays current across every channel
- Verify that your external calendar provider is compatible with iCal synchronisation
- Monitor your calendar for red dates indicating potential conflicts
- Review your integration settings periodically to ensure smooth synchronisation
