Accommodation providers in Italy must submit statistical reports every month. This applies to all properties, including those that were closed or had no guests during the month. Please review the requirements below and make sure your reporting is up to date.

What Is Statistical Reporting in Italy?

Statistical reporting is a legal requirement for all accommodation providers in Italy. Each month, you must send guest and property data to the authorities. These reports help track tourism trends at both national and local levels, so governments and local administrations can plan tourism more effectively.

Even if your property was closed or had no guests during the month, you still need to submit the report.

What Information Is Required for Statistical Reporting?

Each month, hosts must report the following details:

• Property name
• Property type (for example, hotel, B&B, or holiday home)
• Days open or closed
  • A property is considered open if it was available for at least one day in the month.
  • A property is considered closed only if it remained closed for the entire month.
• Total available rooms for the month
• Total available beds for the month
• Total number of guests checked in during the month
• Guest nationalities
  • If guests are Italian, the province where they live must also be reported.
• Total number of occupied nights

Note on Manual Submissions

If you submit your report manually instead of using Holidu's automatic connection, some regional portals, such as ROSS1000, may ask for extra information. This can include your guests' ID document numbers. This extra information is only required for manual submissions. If you use Holidu's automatic reporting, it is not required and is not sent.

How Do Hosts Get Credentials for Statistical Reporting?

Each province in Italy has its own regional portal. Hosts must register on the correct portal to get login credentials. The process can vary depending on the local authority, but in general you will need to:

1. Identify the correct regional portal based on your property's location.
2. Register as an accommodation provider on the portal.
3. Receive your login credentials (username and password).
4. Use these credentials to submit your monthly statistical reports.

If you are not sure where to register, contact your local municipality or tourism office for guidance.

How Do You Submit the Statistical Report?

You can submit your report through your province's regional portal. To make this easier, Holidu offers an automatic statistical reporting feature as part of its regulatory support for the Italian market. Once your account is connected, Holidu sends the required data for you, so you spend less time on manual submissions.

How to Enable Automatic Reporting

Connect your stats account in Holidu. After that, the integration takes care of the recurring monthly submissions.

Automatic Reporting for Empty Periods

The Holidu ISTAT integration also reports to ISTAT when there are no guests in a given month. This helps you stay compliant even when your property is unoccupied.

Choosing Between Alloggiati Web and Motourist

Your Alloggiati Web connection, which is used for guest check-in registration, is not affected by these settings and can stay automated.

If You Have Private or Direct Bookings

If your property has private or direct bookings that are not registered through Holidu, keep the following limitations in mind when using the automatic ISTAT connection to Motourist:

• Holidu can only report guest data for bookings registered in the Holidu system. Private or direct bookings are never sent automatically.
• Motourist does not allow mixing automatic and manual submissions. Once your ISTAT connection is active through Holidu, you cannot separately submit your direct bookings manually.

Recommendation: If you have private or direct bookings, do not activate the automatic ISTAT connection to Motourist. Instead, submit your ISTAT statistics manually so that all of your bookings are covered.

How to Connect Your Property to Statistical Reporting

Follow these steps to automate your guest reporting in Holidu:

1. Go to the "Statistics Connection" section in your Holidu account.
2. Set up the integration with your stats account to automate guest reporting.
3. Click Validate and Save changes.

Once connected, Holidu handles the recurring submissions for you. Review your reports each month to confirm that everything is correct.
