As a host, you can leave a review about your guests on the following channels:

  • Airbnb
  • VRBO — star rating only (no written review)

How to respond to a guest review across all channels

Step 1: Receive an email notification

Whenever a guest leaves a review on Holidu, you will receive an email notification with the review details and a link to respond. This ensures you never miss an opportunity to engage with your guests.

Step 2: Open your Holidu account

Click the "Reply to your guest" button in the email. You will be taken directly to your Holidu host account, where you can write your response in a dedicated response box.

Step 3: Write and submit your reply

When crafting your response, keep these guidelines in mind:

  • Acknowledge the guest's feedback — Thank them for their stay and show appreciation for their business.
  • Address concerns professionally — Focus on solutions rather than disagreements or defensive explanations.
  • Stay welcoming — Remember that future guests will read your reply and use it to form opinions about your property and hosting style.

You have up to 7 days after a guest checks out to leave a review. Here's how to access the review option:

  • Watch for the email reminder you receive after a guest checks out.
  • Alternatively, log in to your Holidu host account, go to Bookings, and open the specific booking.
  • If no review is submitted within 7 days, the guest will automatically receive a positive review from you.

What you can include in your review

  • A star rating to reflect your overall experience with the guest
  • A written review describing your experience (Airbnb only — VRBO allows star ratings of guests only)
  • Private feedback that is visible only to the guest and not displayed publicly

Editing your review

You have 1 hour after submitting your review to make changes. To edit, return to the booking in your Holidu account and click the "Edit" button. After the 1-hour window closes, you cannot modify your review.

Yes, you can request a change of ownership so Holidu can take over your existing Booking.com listing and reviews. However, certain conditions must be met to be eligible for this transfer. Contact the Holidu support team through the Assistant to check your eligibility and proceed with the change of ownership process.

Will my reviews be transferred?

If you meet the eligibility criteria for a change of ownership, all reviews from your personal Booking.com listing will be transferred into your Holidu/Booking.com listing, preserving your reputation and rating history.

Airbnb

Can I request a change of ownership to transfer my listing and reviews to Holidu?

No, you cannot transfer your existing Airbnb listing through a change of ownership. You will need to close your direct listing and open a new one through Holidu.

What happens to my existing reviews?

Reviews from your personal Airbnb listing cannot be transferred to your new Holidu Airbnb listing. You will start gathering reviews from scratch with your new Holidu listing. However, if you have a high number of reviews on your personal Airbnb listing, Holidu may offer you a temporary commission discount as an incentive to close your direct listing and reopen it through Holidu. Contact the support team through the Assistant to discuss this option.

VRBO

Can I request a change of ownership to transfer my listing and reviews to Holidu?

You cannot transfer the full listing through a change of ownership, but you can transfer your reviews. Contact the Holidu support team through the Assistant to request a review transfer.

Will my reviews be transferred?

Yes, as long as you close your VRBO listing, Holidu can request that your historical reviews be transferred to the new listing created through Holidu. This allows you to maintain your visibility and rating on the platform.

Can I request a change of ownership or transfer my reviews?

No, Holidu does not offer listing transfers or review transfers for Check24 listings at this time. If you wish to list on Check24 through Holidu, you will need to create a new listing.
