Guests can leave a review about their stay on every channel that is connected to Holidu. This means your property listing across Holidu Homes, Worldlistings, VRBO, Airbnb, and Booking.com can all receive guest reviews.

How to respond to a guest review for all channels

Responding to guest reviews is an important part of maintaining your property's reputation across all platforms. Here is the step-by-step process:

Step 1: Receive an Email Notification

Whenever a guest leaves a review on Holidu, you'll receive an email with the review details and a link to respond. This notification will be sent regardless of which channel the review was posted on.

Step 2: Access Your Holidu Account

Click the "Reply to Your Guest" button in the email. This will take you directly to your Holidu account, where you can write your response.

Step 3: Write and Submit Your Reply

When crafting your response, follow these best practices:

  • Acknowledge the guest's feedback and thank them for their stay
  • Address concerns professionally by focusing on solutions rather than disagreements
  • Stay welcoming and remember that future guests will also read your reply

Once you write your response, the system will check for clarity and professionalism. If edits are needed, you'll be notified before submission.

Step 4: Review and Publish

Holidu will review your response to ensure it meets quality standards. Important: Once a response is published, it cannot be changed, so make sure your reply is exactly as you want it before final submission.

How to leave a guest review (Airbnb and VRBO)

If your property is connected to Airbnb or VRBO, you can leave reviews about your guests. Here's how:

Steps to leave a review:

  1. Look out for the email reminder you'll receive after a guest checks out
  2. Or, log in to your Holidu host account, go to Bookings, and open the reservation
  3. You have up to 7 days after checkout to leave a review
  4. If no review is submitted within this period, the guest will automatically receive a positive review

What you can include in your review:

  • A star rating
  • A written review describing your experience
  • Private feedback only visible to the guest

Editing your review:

You have 1 hour after submitting to make changes. To edit, return to the booking and click Edit.

Important considerations

  • Your review and response are visible to the guest and may be visible to future guests, so use professional language at all times
  • Timely responses are recommended as they demonstrate engagement and responsiveness
  • Reviews and responses may be subject to moderation per Holidu's guidelines
  • If you do not see review options, make sure the reservation has been completed and check your platform version

Transferring reviews when moving to Holidu from direct listings

If you're considering deactivating your direct listings on various channels and activating them through Holidu instead, review transfer policies vary by platform. Here's what you need to know:

Booking.com

Yes, you can request a change of ownership for Holidu to take over your existing Booking.com listings and reviews. However, you must fulfill certain eligibility conditions. To understand if you are eligible and to proceed with the transfer, please reach out to our support team through the Assistant and we will assist you.

Airbnb

No, you cannot transfer your existing listing and reviews. You must close your direct Airbnb listing and open it as new via Holidu. You will have to start getting reviews via the new listing created on Airbnb for you by Holidu. However, if you have a high number of reviews in your Airbnb personal listing, we can offer you a temporary discount on your Holidu commission as an incentive to close it and open it via Holidu. If you want to proceed with this option, please reach out to our support team through the Assistant and we will assist you.

VRBO

You cannot transfer the full listing, but you can transfer your reviews. If you want to transfer your reviews from your personal VRBO listing to your new Holidu-managed listing, we can request VRBO to send over the historical reviews to keep your great visibility and rating. Please reach out to our support team through the Assistant to initiate this process.

Check24 and HomeToGo

Unfortunately, review transfers are not available for Check24 or HomeToGo listings at this time.
