If you’ll be arriving by plane, the closet airport to Tas Sliema is Malta International Airport, which is around 7 miles away. It takes around 25 minutes to reach Tas Sliema from the airport by taxi, and 60 minutes by bus.

For longer distances, it’s best to rely on taxis or buses for getting around. However, if you’re a keen walker, you’ll have no trouble reaching the majority of attractions on foot. Sliema is a very walkable town with plenty of walking areas for pedestrians. Having a private car is not necessary for navigating around Sliema.
