Head just 14 minutes north of Carn forth where you will find the famous Fairy Steps attraction in the northern section of the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Step out on the path from Beetham Village to Beetham Fell that leads to the Fairy Steps, a mysterious narrow flight of stone steps. The second flight of stairs involves squeezing through a narrow passageway between two rock faces! This is an absolutely gorgeous location for beautiful travel photos and the Wheat sheaf Pub in Beetham is a great place to refuel after your walk!

Spend a wonderful few hours walking in this stunning setting that rises above Morecambe Bay! There are incredible rocky outcrops covered in Lichen to see and a multitude of beautiful flowering plants making this area a haven for butterflies. This lovely, pristine nature reserve boasts a mixture of grassland and woodland with plenty of old growth ash, hazel, yew and birch trees and a network of paths make this a nature oasis for hikers.

If you are looking for an absolutely magical spot for a picnic, head no further than beautiful Crook o Lune Picnic Site locates just 13 minutes south of Carnforth on the edge of the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are lovely picnic benches overlooking the River Lune as it meanders through a wonderfully scenic setting before flowing under two impressive bridges. Follow the footpath to Gray´s Seat, the place where Turner painted his idyllic landscape masterpiece!

Head to Lancaster Castle where almost 1000 years of fascinating history awaits you! This imposing fortress dominates the skyline of Lancaster and is one of Britain's most impressive and significant historic monuments that was also an operational prison. The courtrooms of this castle have seen many infamous trials over the centuries. You can see superb Gillow furniture in the Grand Jury Room and there is a stunning display of heraldic shields to admire amongst many other attractions.

Just 14 minutes north of Camforth lies an incredible 6.1 km loop trail near Milnthorpe, Cumbria that ticks all the boxes for exceptional walking, birdwatching and mountain biking! There are absolutely breathtaking views to admire from the summit of Farleton Fell and Newbiggin Crags. Be amazed by the incredible white cliffs and acres of limestone pavement that ascend above the woodland and grassland in the vicinity at this spectacular nature location.

Leighton Hall Estate just 10 minutes north of Carnforth is one of Lancashire´s historical gems. Discover the interesting past of the Lancashire family of the famous Gillow furniture making dynasty on this lovely estate with its picturesque gardens, woodland walks and lovely tea room. Inside the house you can admire stunning pieces of Gillow furniture and decor objects.
