Grange-Over-Sands has 7 beaches to choose from. Enjoy a day out with the kids at Blackpool beach or Lytham St Annes in Lancashire, or enjoy a sunny day on St Bees Beach in Cumbria. In Merseyside you can go to Ainsdale, Formby Beach or Cosby Beach. Take your favourite book, your chair and a picnic. Some people think the clock tower is the best building in Grange-over-Sands. The tower was built in the early 1900s with diagonal buttresses, a small band of bell-openings, plus a small octagonal spire at the top. Take your camera and get the best shot of this emblematic town symbol.

Morning, afternoon or evening, You pick the time to go for a stroll on the promenade, which is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs, along Morecambe Bay. Take in the stunning views across the bay and feel the energy of the sun and the sea breeze as you take every step. Then, stop for a coffee and relax.

If you want to have a little trip for the day, you can head to Cartmel Village. This wonderful mediaeval village boasts a Priory that dates back to the 12th Century! Take a look around the shops, the Market Square and their unique racetrack, where you can enjoy a walk around the woods surrounding it or take a trip to the racecourse itself.

The village is home to lovely, unique independent shops that sell from clothes to furniture, accessories, souvenirs and more. Browse around and find your special souvenir to take home with you. If you like walking, you must take the walk to the top of Hampsfell. There are several low hills to the south of the Lake District with exposed limestone and a walk with exposed limestone together with sea views is worth climbing. From the top of Hampsfell, you will get incredible 360 panoramic views. Take your picnic and take in the views as you unwind on the blanket. There is an added attraction when climbing here, and this is the intriguing ‘building’ at its highest point. It is the Hampsfell Hospice, built by the vicar of Cartmel.
