A coastline of golden sandy beaches and a sheltered harbour makes New Quay a perfect place to visit at any time of year. The beaches of New Quay are ideal for basking in the sun, having a nice day watching dolphins, playing with small boats and relaxing as you listen to the waves. Harbour Beach is New Quay's main beach, sheltered from the prevailing weather. This is a designated Blue Flag beach sheltered by cliffs and the harbour, with soft, fine sand ideal for sunbathing, making sandcastles therefore ideal for families with children. Practise any water sport you like or watch the New Quay regatta. Dolau beach is a pebbled beach much smaller and lies on the other side of the harbour wall. The other beach is Traeth Gwyn, also called Llanina beach, which looks wilder, and is popular with dog walkers at any time of the year. Beyond Llanina Point there is Cei Bach beach, a sandy and shingle beach, divided by groynes.

One of the most popular activities is walking along the Ceredigion Coast Path or walking around Cardigan Bay. Constitution Hill Aberystwyth is home of the longest Cliff Railway in Britain. Visit this unique attraction and enjoy the atmosphere of a Victorian park. The Aberystwyth Electric Cliff Railway is the longest in Britain with 778 feet of undulating tracks and tilted carriages. Opened since 1896 this experience gives you time to enjoy the incredible views as you reach the summit station and let its beauty captivate you.

The Welsh Wind Distillery is a working distillery 5 miles north of Cardigan where you can enjoy gin making experiences, observe how gin is made, the ‘heads’, ‘hearts’ and ‘tails’ of a distillation, have a gin tasting, and of course, to buy gin! Come along and learn more about Welsh gins!
