Although if you prefer a spot where you can surf and take the kids, Sennen Cove is an excellent place. Just 3 miles away from Porthcurno, Sennen beach is an ideal spot for those who want to surf. The beach has nice waves and provides safe swimming for the little ones. After the beach you can go to the Surf Beach Bar next to it to eat tasty pizzas, hamburgers, fish and potatoes.

Besides the impressive beaches, the place also has other activities to do outdoors. You can take a popular walk from Porthcurno to Penzance. It's a unique 10 mile walk along the coast where you'll see inspiring landscapes, fishing villages and nature reserves. You will pass by Logan Rock, a very fascinating spot with special rock formations, then you will find Porthguarnon Cove where there is a steep path for which you must be ready, further on you will pass through Trevedran, an area with grasslands where you can sit and rest, and after going through a forest at St Loy's, much further on you will come across Lamorna Cove, Kemyel, Mousehole, Penlee and Newlyn with excellent places to eat until you finally arrive at Penzance. It is a walk that will certainly test your physical abilities and leave you with beautiful photos to show when you return home.

Located on the high cliffs facing the beautiful sea, the Minack Theatre is a place where you can enjoy dramatic plays, operas, musicals and plays for children - all under the stars! In addition, the theatre has beautiful subtropical gardens that will leave you amazed with their rare colourful plants and a café located on a terrace that offers cakes, ice cream, cold drinks and snacks. It is a great place to visit with the family for a pleasant and different day.

Just a few minutes away from Porthcurno, in the heart of St Aubyn Estates, there’s the picturesque beach of Porthwarra. A hidden gem surrounded by wildflowers and low tides, where you can float and explore its beautiful crystal clear waters. The site has interesting rock pools and caves (which have been used as a film set) with a café nearby where you can eat after swimming.

During your holiday to the village you should not miss visiting the famous Telegraph Museum, it is a historical place full of science where you can learn about the effort that was made to make communications possible around the world. The museum houses a series of exhibitions with interactive displays where you will see some of the original equipment that was used to implement morse code. You can also explore the secret bunker with bomb proof doors used during World War II. And if your dog is on holiday with you, you don't have to leave it at the cottage, you can bring it with you to the museum.

On your relaxing holiday on the coast you should come and spend some time at Porthcurno Beach Cafe. Situated near the famous South West Coastal Road and the beach, this cosy gourmet spot offers you a selection of wines and tapas with delicious olives and crispy bread with olive oil, traditional Cornish pasties and much more to delight you. If you suddenly forgot to pack something, the place also has a beach shop where you can find everything you need for your sunny vacation.

On your way back to Porthcurno, finish the day off at the Long Rock Inn, a traditional village pub offering a range of beers, delicious home-cooked food and dark chocolate ganache with salted caramel desserts.
