Account verification is an essential step to ensure you can receive payouts and maintain your hosting account with Holidu. This comprehensive guide will walk you through the entire verification process for private hosts. Please note that only the primary account holder can complete this verification.

Before You Start: Gather Your Documents

Before beginning the verification process, ensure you have the following documents ready. Important: Adyen, our payment provider, does not accept scanned documents. Only clear photographs or official digital downloads of original documents will be accepted.

  • Official identification document (passport, driving licence, or national ID card)
  • Proof of bank account ownership (such as a recent bank statement or deposit slip)
  • If you are a freelancer, sole trader, or sole proprietor, your business registration number

Step 1: Access Your Account Verification

Begin the verification process by navigating to your Holidu account:

  1. Log in to your Holidu account
  2. Go to the 'Account' tab in your dashboard
  3. Click on 'Validate' to start the verification process
  4. You may be prompted to sign a new agreement—simply accept to proceed. This agreement update will not affect your current pricing or terms

Step 2: Verify Your Personal Information

The system will display information that has been pre-filled from your Holidu account registration. Review this information carefully:

  1. Click on 'Personal Details' to review your information
  2. Check all pre-filled fields for accuracy
  3. If any information requires editing, click the 'Edit' button and make the necessary corrections
  4. Add any missing information that was not previously provided
  5. Once all information is correct, click 'Next'

At the bottom of this section, you will need to indicate whether your bank account is registered in your personal name or under a sole proprietorship (as a freelancer, sole trader, or similar business structure).

If you operate as a sole proprietor, provide your business registration number and business address, then click 'Next' to continue.

Step 3: Confirm Your Address

Your address must match exactly with the address on your identification document:

  1. Enter your address in the search field provided
  2. The system will autofill the address details
  3. Verify that the address matches your ID document exactly
  4. If your billing address differs from your personal address on your ID, update it to match your ID address
  5. Proceed to the next step

Step 4: Verify Your Identity Document

You have two options for verifying your identity. Choose the method that works best for you:

Option A: Instant Verification (Recommended)

Instant verification provides immediate confirmation of your identity:

  1. Select the country that issued your identification document
  2. Choose your document type (passport, driving licence, or ID card)
  3. Confirm that your selected document matches the personal information you entered
  4. Scan the QR code displayed on your screen using your mobile phone, or request the link via SMS
  5. Take clear, well-lit photographs of the front and back of your document
  6. Ensure the entire document is visible in each photograph
  7. Submit your photographs for immediate verification

Option B: Manual Verification

If you prefer manual verification or cannot use instant verification:

  1. Select your document type from the dropdown menu
  2. Upload clear, high-quality photographs of your document from your computer
  3. Ensure the photographs are well-lit and show the entire document
  4. Click 'Next' to submit your documents
  5. Allow up to 72 hours for manual verification to complete

Step 5: Verify Your Payout Details

Your bank account information must match the name you provided in your personal details:

  1. Review your bank account information
  2. Ensure the account holder name matches the personal details you previously entered
  3. Choose one of the following verification methods

Option A: Instant Verification (Recommended)

Connect your bank account directly for immediate verification:

  1. Select your online banking provider from the list
  2. You will be redirected to your bank's secure login page through Tink, our trusted verification partner
  3. Log in using your banking credentials
  4. Your login information is never stored by Holidu or Adyen—it is used only to verify your account ownership
  5. Once verified, you will be returned to Holidu to complete the process

Option B: Manual Verification

If instant verification is unavailable, submit your bank details manually:

  1. Enter your complete bank account details
  2. Upload a recent bank document (issued within the last 12 months)
  3. Ensure the document clearly shows your name, IBAN (International Bank Account Number), and bank location
  4. For non-EU bank accounts, include the bank's location information
  5. Click 'Next' to submit
  6. Allow up to 72 hours for verification

Step 6: Provide Sole Proprietor or Business Details (If Applicable)

If you indicated that your bank account is registered under a sole proprietorship or business name, provide the following information:

  • Your business legal name exactly as it appears on official registration documents
  • Your business registration number (if you have one; you may indicate if one is not applicable)
  • Your business address (this must match your official legal business address)

Step 7: Sign the Service Agreement

Review the service agreement provided by Adyen, our payment processor:

  1. Read through the complete service agreement
  2. Review all terms and conditions
  3. Once you have reviewed and agree to the terms, click the 'Sign' button at the bottom
  4. Your signature electronically confirms your acceptance

Step 8: Complete Your Verification

Your verification status will update based on the method you chose:

  • Instant Verification: Your account status should update to 'Complete' immediately after signing the service agreement
  • Manual Verification: Your status will show as 'In Review' while our team processes your documents. This typically takes up to 72 hours. You can monitor the progress of your verification in your Holidu Account dashboard

Once verification is complete, you will receive confirmation and can begin receiving payouts to your verified bank account.

Tips for Successful Verification

Follow these recommendations to ensure your verification process goes smoothly:

  • Document Clarity: Ensure all photographs of documents are clear, well-lit, and in focus. Avoid glare or shadows on the document
  • Complete Visibility: Ensure the entire document is visible in your photographs—no corners or edges should be cut off
  • Information Consistency: Verify that all information across your personal details, identification document, and bank account matches exactly, particularly names and addresses
  • High-Quality Images: Use a high-resolution camera or modern smartphone for photographs. Poor quality images may be rejected
  • Check Your Email: Monitor your email inbox regularly, as we may need to contact you with updates, questions, or requests for additional information
  • Original Documents: Ensure you are uploading clear photographs of original, official documents—not scans or photocopies

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Address Mismatch: If your current address differs from the one on your identification document, update your personal address to match your ID exactly before proceeding with verification.

Bank Account Name Mismatch: Your bank account holder name must match the personal name you provided. If your account is under a business name, indicate this when selecting the account type.

Document Rejection: If your documents are rejected during manual verification, ensure they are clear, complete, and show all required information. Resubmit with better quality photographs.

Verification Delays: Manual verification can take up to 72 hours. During this time, you can track your verification status in your account dashboard. If you have not received an update after 72 hours, please contact our support team.
