France

I am Marie-Odile, delighted to welcome you to my holiday home in France. Let me share my favourite places and experiences with you.

Here are some highlights you won't want to miss:

  • Villefranche de Conflent: explore the Fort Vauban, its impressive ramparts, and the sulphurous hot springs of Les Bains de St-Thomas.
  • St-Martin du Canigou: a stunning site to discover.
  • Festival Pablo Casals in Prades: enjoy classical concerts held in churches and chapels during the summer.

For dining, I recommend El Taller in Taurinya or La Table des Saveurs in Font-Romeu. Don’t forget to try the Catalan speciality, Les Boles de Picolat, accompanied by a Catalan cream. A great memento to take home would be local charcuterie and dishes from local producers. The local markets, especially the Saturday morning one in Prades, and organised outings by the five Nature Reserves in the Pyrénées Orientales, offer wonderful experiences.

Best travel time:Summer is ideal for hiking and festivals, while winter is perfect for skiing and enjoying the hot springs.
I recommend France for
  • Hiking
  • Winter sports (skiing, snowboarding, etc.)
  • Historic sites
  • Festivals / events
  • Wellness (spa, thermal baths, etc.)
