You'll pass ancient thatched cottages dating back to the 16th century, settlements dating back to the Stone Age, formations millions of years old, and lush coastal scenery. It's a fairly even walk through fields and along coastal paths. Alternatively, the 8 km circular walk from Bantham and the Avon, follows the Avon Estuary Way over the eastern shore of the estuary and through woodland to Stiddicombe Creek.

Situated just off the beachfront at Bigbury on Sea, Burgh Island is a South Devon landmark. Access the island on foot at low tide or take a trip on the iconic historic sea tractor, the only one in the world, at high tide. Just 30 minutes from Bantham, visit Dartmoor Zoo and discover over 200 animals!
