The South West Coast Path passes through Clovelly, and although it’s England's longest footpath at 630 miles, you can just pop on it for a short scenic walk for however long you like. For a moderate 5-mile walk, start on the path in Clovelly and walk towards Mouthmill Beach. You’ll pass along incredible rock formations, unspoilt beaches, and beautiful woodlands along the way.

Spend an hour or two exploring the winding cobbled streets on foot as you pass by whitewashed cottages, independent shops, and traditional buildings. The descent which leads to the harbour is a little bit steep, but it offers stunning views of the sea all the way down.

This charming pebble beach sits at the end of a steep cobbled path which descends from the village. The views on the walk down to the beach are magnificent. If you don’t feel like walking, there’s a regular Land Rover service which you can use to get from the village to the beach and back for a small fee. Spend an hour or two at the beach walking along the seaside and visiting the many colourful boats which line the shore.

A visit to The Fisherman’s Cottage is a must for any traveller in Clovelly. Here you can visit a restored fisherman’s cottage from the 1930s and see how traditional fishermen used to live. Visit the little rooms filled with artefacts and original furnishings. There’s a popular sweet shop just near the exit where you can grab some treats on your way out!

These serene, colourful flower gardens are situated behind the main church and manor house in the village. Donkeys are likely to be one of the first things you notice upon arriving to Clovelly. Traditionally, donkeys have been used since the village was first established to transport goods along the narrow streets. You can pat the sweet, shy animals, and kids can even ride on one.

Just a short walk from the village’s main pebble beach is Clovelly Waterfall. It’s a lovely, picturesque walk to reach the falls, but do be sure to wear good shoes. The beautiful falls make a lovely backdrop for a photo, or a nice setting for a quiet picnic.
