Lyme Regis is on the Jurassic Coast, which covers 130 kilometres of gorgeous Devonshire coastline and is one of the world’s finest places for fossil hunting. Take your kids on an adventure to Dinosaur Land, a joyful, indoor Jurassic Park overflowing with fossilised remains and lifelike dinosaur models, including a 73kg dinosaur dung exhibit will have them in raptures!

Spend a day as day’s were meant to be spent exploring the lovely town of Dorchester, where thousands of years of history are wrapped up in one beautiful and compact town centre. While you are there, don’t miss the fascinating family friendly Dinosaur Museum!

Backing Lyme Regis’ main beach there is a promenade lined with colourful beach huts and cafes leading to the town’s historic sea wall, known as ‘The Cobb’. A delightful place simply to take a walk and watch the boats come in and out of the harbour.

Just up from the Cobb you will find Langmoor Gardens, the local’s favourite park for kicking back and soaking up the sunshine. Its elevated position on the hillside affords fortuitous visitors beautiful views over Lyme Bay.

The town’s high street boasts a profusion of independent shops, ideal for an afternoon’s gentle perusing. Numerous art galleries are also dotted around the centre showcasing the work of local artists – the opportunities to pick up a souvenir you will treasure for years to come are boundless!

Take a fishing trip from Lyme Regis Harbour. Beginners are more than welcome, as you will be given full instructions on how the rods and reels work. Then take the fish you catch to Herbies Fish bar where they will be cooked for you to perfection!
