More than two millennia old, they are beautifully lit up at night and visible from across the city. Nearby, make sure to visit the ancient city of Kaunos, a sprawling Roman ruin site that takes an entire day to explore in depth. It includes an amphitheatre that is so well preserved, it hosts real concerts to this day.

Beach buffs, it’s your first day in Dalyan? Then pack your bags and head straight for Iztuzu beach, considered by many to be the most scenic in Turkey! Dalyan’s autumn Caretta Run includes several running races from 5 to 21 kilometres in length along the beautiful shoreline of Sülüngür Lake. So if you are a runner, why not join the locals for this out of the ordinary race?!

The Turkish coast has one of the highest concentrations of turtles in the world! The DEKAMER centre rescues injured turtles before releasing them back into the sea. You will be introduced to the turtles and learn all about how they live!

At the Sultaniye Hot Springs and mud baths at Lake Koycegiz lay back in the sulphurous water, which can reach 40 degrees, then lather up in the mud bath before rinsing it all off in the thermal spring. You will look and feel a decade younger!

A network of quite spectacular ECO trails weave through the Dalyan delta, linking its many region’s lagoons, lakes, wetlands, rivers, forests, and beaches. The yellow markers indicate the path for walkers, and if you are cycling follow the red markers.
