You can walk along the gorge, visit the waterfall, swim in the pool filled with filtered river water or set off down the river in a large inflatable ring with handles and a paddle for 30-40 minutes with experienced guides that will indicate help you along the way. Listed on UNESCO’s Tentative List, the Ancient City of Kaunos is a port city with an interesting past. If you are a history buff, here you will find out more about the Kaunos Rock Tombs, in Dalyan, the theatre and the temple. Half an hour ride by car, you can get to one of Turkey’s natural gems in the southern coast. The Blue Lagoon beckons you into its turquoise waters. Paragliding is a very popular activity in Fethiye and from the top of Mount Babadağ you will have the opportunity to take the skies and get an amazing view of the area. However, if jumping off a cliff does not sound very appealing, from Zirve bar, enjoy a drink or a nibble while paragliders take off every sixty seconds!

To spend a day surrounded by crystal clear waters and away from the crowds, a boat is the best option to do so. Get on a boat tour that will take you to secluded and splendid bays. Take a dip into translucent and warm waters, do some snorkelling and have a great meal on the boat. Recharge your batteries and soak up the sunshine while having a fun day out.

When Turkey was invaded by Romans they were still allowed to make their own marks. Nowadays, we can enjoy the magnificent views of Fethiye and the sea from its small and partially excavated theatre which originally seated about 6,000 spectators. Opposite to the theatre there is a shady and beautiful park to stroll around and enjoy some peaceful time under the shade of the trees.

The protected area of Letoön was a religious Lycian centre with three temples dedicated to Leto, a Greek goddess. Have a nice time visiting the ruins and pay special attention to the well-preserved mosaix of the Apollo temple. After Letoön, make your way to Xanthos and explore what was once the capital of ancient Lycia. Admire the remains of the theatre, the agora and the acropolis.

The beautiful beach of Butterfly Valley is one of the joys of this area. The only way to get there is by boat or hiking from Faralya village, through the lush vegetation of the gorge behind it. Stretch out on the beach and enjoy some quiet time. If going by boat, on the way to the beach, most boat tours also make some swim stops at different coves to enjoy a refreshing and nice dip into the Mediterranean.
