Lindos for beach lovers
Going to the beach is one of the main activities you should do if you book a villa in Lindos. You have two different beaches sharing the same bay. The Main Beach, known as Lindos Beach, is on the east side of the Acropolis. Ideal for families and children where they can play in shallow waters. On the western tip end of the beach, there is Pallas Beach, a smaller stretch of sand with traditional tavernas by the sea. A 10-minute walk from the Acropolis there is also St. Paul's Bay, a beautiful sheltered bay of turquoise waters to spend a whole day basking in the sun or under the umbrellas. On one of the neighbouring islands is Symi, which also has beautiful beaches, secluded coves and a tranquil atmosphere, ideal for those who want something more serene for their holiday. You can take a ferry from the port of Rhodes, which will take about an hour to reach and, in addition to its beaches, there are also beautiful villas in Symi waiting for your stay.
Lindos for food lovers
Around the island you find fantastic and traditional family-run tavernas (as well as family-friendly villas in Lindos), with white walls and bougainvillaeas snaking up where to sample delicious bites of traditional Greek recipes. Dine at the gorgeous terrace restaurant of Melenos or at the romantic roof terrace of Mythos. Ambrosia, Eklekton or Pallas Beach Taverna also offer fresh produce, exquisite menus and great views. To sample prawns, fresh fish, gyros, salads and local vegetables from other places similar to Lindos, you can rent a holiday rental and letting in Rhodes and discover all these flavours.
The Acropolis of Lindos was designed to protect the village from attacks and is within the confines of the Hellenistic walls.
