Holidays in Palma de Mallorca for gastronomy lovers
As one of the Balearic Islands, Mallorca enjoys very typical Mediterranean diet-based recipes as well as local recipes that will gain your heart. Most recipes include freshly caught fish and shellfish like the very famous caldereta with lobster. Between April and August, lobsters are the main ingredient of this traditional Balearic recipe. No caldereta is ever the same. Every one of them has its own touch. Give it a go at Ola del Mar. Sample some arròs brut that gets its name from the dark colour of the sauce, el Tumbet, a veggie-based recipe typical in the summer or la coca de trampó and the famous ensaimada as a pudding. Indulge your taste buds and treat yourself to these delicacies.
Villas in Palma de Mallorca for explorers
While Palma itself is a wonderful city and a brilliant place to base your holiday, it’s important to remember that the island of Majorca is home to a whole list of fantastic places to discover. The northern section is just one wonderful part of the island which should not be missed. If you’re after an ocean escape, book a villa in Port de Pollenca. If you’d prefer something a little more rural and surrounded by fields but still close enough to the beach when you’d like to visit it, the fincas in Las Palmeras are only a 10-minute drive from the port and are a fabulous choice.
The gorgeous Parc de la Mar owes its existence to the artist Joan Miró who was part of the jury that voted the winner project that became the park later on.
