The municipality is very easy to reach because it is located near Geneva airport. It is also possible to get there by train, by reaching Saint-Gervais station. Les Contamines-Montjoie is made up of quantities of hamlets. All of these belong to the municipality and are more or less distant from the slopes. The hamlets of La Vy, Les Echenaz and Le Cugnon are the closest to the ski resort. This is where you can find the main shops related to winter sports. Further north, it is the city centre as such: La Chovettaz in particular is home to several restaurants and local shops. Further north, at La Revenaz or Champelet, nature takes over.

Les Contamines is the name of the ski resort of Contamines-Montjoie. This ski area has 48 slopes. It belongs to the immense domain of Evasion Mont-Blanc. Experienced skiers will be able to find their happiness on the 28 red and black slopes of the resort. However, beginner skiers are not to be outdone, as seven blue runs allow them to practice their skills. Cross-country skiers will be delighted by the magnificent sites in the surrounding area, such as the Dômes de Miage.

In summer, too, you can find something to do in Les Contamines-Montjoie! Walkers have a wide variety of hiking trails where they can indulge their passion. Mont Joly, for example, is a magnificent site, between the clouds, where you can enjoy an absolutely superb view. Another site to see: the Glacier du Miage, difficult, but which almost makes you forget the difficulty by its landscapes. You can still go hiking towards the Aiguilles des Glaciers and take the opportunity to try your hand at mountaineering.

With nearly 50 trails on the clock, Les Contamines-Montjoie is a real playground for skiers. On the Col du Bonhomme, at Mont Joly, at the Dômes de Hauteluce... There is plenty to do.
