On a hill overlooking the two bays of Dunoon is the Castle House Museum, built in 1822, a wonderful little museum with a wealth of items and information about Dunoon and the surrounding areas that tells the story of the Cowal Peninsula, Scottish culture over the last few decades, It includes rooms with furniture and models decorated with items from the last century and a small video room with scenes of old Dunoon, being one of the many attractions that Dunoon has to offer, both in the centre and in the surrounding area, so we invite you to rent a cottage in this area.

Near Dunoon, surrounded by woodland, is Bishop's Glen Reservoir, also called Dunoon Reservoir, the main access is via Balgaidh Burn, it covers 5 acres. Angling is supervised by the Dunoon and District Angling Club, where you will find good-sized rainbow trout, a fabulous experience to return to next time by booking your accommodation in the charming cottages of this warm and welcoming Dudoon village.

This is the most famous short walk on the Cowal Peninsula, with wonderful scenery, it is a trail with some steep and stairs sections, surrounded by moss covered rock walls, shaded areas and others totally covered by vegetation, it will take you over bridges, you will find waterfalls and shallow rock pools crossed by arched wooden bridges, splendid ferns and mushrooms growing in the forest

Opened as a single screen cinema in a building designed in the early 1970s. By 1980 it had been split into two screens, films were projected from a cinema projector, it was open seasonally. The Studio Cinema has come a long way, it is now a fully digital cinema open 7 days a week, it works with a skilled, attentive team, it was refurbished in 2019, its halls now equipped with new screens, state-of-the-art sound systems, delighted to have disabled access

The castle was built in the 12th century, now a public park, perched high on a hilltop, here there is a statue 'Highland Mary' to commemorate Mary Campbell, who was born near Dunoon and became involved with Robert Burns, later he wrote poems about her, including 'Highland Mary'. Today the remains of the castle are sparse, but its geographical position invites you to pay it a visit, it once had three circular towers in a triangular formation, occupying much of the grounds, it offers stunning views of the town of Dunoon and the Firth of Clyde
