Travellers and activities

Speyside for whisky lovers

The Speyside region is the land of whisky, so there are a number of places where you can indulge your body with a fine whisky. One of the most prominent distilleries in the area is Glenfiddich, founded in 1886 by William Grant. Glenfiddich is the only whisky in Speyside that is distilled, matured and bottled at the distillery itself, and is sold in over 180 countries. Another well-known winery in the area is the Glenlivet Distillery, a producer of single malt Scotch whisky founded in 1824.

Speyside for beach lovers

This area is not only full of whisky, it also has several beaches that make the region a tourist destination worth visiting at least once in a lifetime. Cullen Beach is a very attractive, golden sandy beach with plenty of space and excellent water quality. If you want to avoid swimming you can stroll along the various paths in the bay or sit and sunbathe while watching the dusky dolphins, the beach is completely protected by the surrounding cliffs. Another of Speyside's most famous beaches is East Beach, usually visited by surfers for the incredible waves, but you can also watch birds, spot bottlenose dolphins and admire the beautiful dunes in the area.

Did you know that whiskies made in the Strathspey region are called Speyside? Due to its classification and conservation origin, there are also around 55 distilleries in the region - whisky heaven!
