If you're travelling in a group, you'll find a huge variety of activities, enough to keep everyone happy.

Where should we stay in the Costa del Sol?

That depends on what you're looking for during your Costa del Sol group holiday. If you're travelling with your extended family, including children, consider a town like Benalmádena which has a zoo, aquarium, water park and other family-friendly activities. For a stag or hen do, Málaga city is a great choice thanks to its wide range of bars, restaurants and nightclubs. If you want a taste of luxury in your holiday lettings in the Costa del Sol, head to Marbella, the coast's most exclusive resort town.

Rent a boat for a day on the water

The sea is an endless source of fun, whether you want to go fishing, look for dolphins, try some watersports or just pose on the deck. Travelling in a group makes boat hire a lot more accessible. You can rent a boat in most towns, with or without a skipper. Prices vary enormously: in Fuengirola, a full day of boat rental will set you back about €500, depending on the size. Head to Marbella and you can pay an eye-watering €6,000 for a day on a luxury yacht complete with crew.

Lounge around in an exclusive beach club

If your group trip to the Costa del Sol is a celebration, like a stag do or hen party, this is a way to make it extra special. Spend an afternoon or a full day relaxing at a beach club, enjoying the sun loungers, pool, bar and restaurant. Nikki Beach in Marbella is famous for its luxury essence and is popular with celebrities. Trocadero focuses on its cuisine, making it an excellent choice for foodies. With its Mexican theme - including Day of the Dead skulls as decoration - Playa Padre offers an exotic twist to your beach day.

Hit the town for a memorable night out

The two most popular destinations for a night out in the Costa del Sol are Málaga city and Marbella. Choose Marbella if you want unashamed luxury, but be warned - you'll pay a hefty price for the chance to rub shoulders with celebs. Málaga city has more of a variety of nightlife, with something to suit every budget. Plaza de la Merced and Plaza de Uncibay are excellent spots if you want to find cheap and cheerful bars and clubs. They're popular with locals, particularly students. You'll find a more international vibe in the Malagueta neighbourhood, which is where tourists tend to go for a night out.

Join in the fun of an Andalusian fair

Visit the Costa del Sol in August to enjoy one of the most exciting events of the year. The Feria de Málaga is a traditional Andalusian fair. Local women dress up in elaborate flamenco costumes, and you'll find lots of free concerts in the streets of the city. The fairground includes rollercoasters and other funfair rides and attractions, shows, bars, stalls selling street food and more. The party runs all day, continuing well into the small hours, and doesn't stop for a full week in mid-August.
