Mount Washington is a very popular destination among hikers from all over the world. This 2,000-metre mountain is a challenge for many hiking enthusiasts, and the most frequently used trail is Tuckerman's Ravine, a fairly steep and rocky route. Once you get to the top, though, it's all worth it, as its height allows you to look out over the Adirondacks of New York, Vermont, the Atlantic Ocean, and even Canada. If instead, you are looking for a quieter and easier route where you can walk more leisurely, but without sacrificing the spectacular scenery, inside the Dixville Notch State Park you will find the perfect place for you. Here you can take a one-hour hike that will take you to the breathtaking views of the White Mountains and the small community of Dixville Notch. Although this route may seem a little challenging if you are a beginner, it is not at all difficult, despite passing through steep trails and dense forests, the summit is only 800 metres away from where you start.

If there's one thing in New Hampshire that attracts intrepid tourists from all over the world, it's the variety of resorts and ski centres in the state, so if skiing is your thing, you're in for a treat. In Coös County there is Bretton Woods, which is the largest ski resort in the state with about 464 acres of terrain available to enjoy. It has 62 trails, 35 glades, three terrain parks, and an 8-passenger gondola lift, all of which are monitored by security personnel around the clock. This resort is usually open from early November to mid-April and is rated as one of the best in terms of snow conditions. There is also Loon mountain in Grafton County, and it has 61 ski slopes for all levels and all types of skiing. One of its benefits is that it is very close to the northern area and in addition to this it has 50 high-efficiency snow guns that keep the ski season going for a long, long time.

This fabulous recreation centre is located at Attitash Mountain Resort in Carroll County. This zip line course goes from the treetops at the top of Bear Peak to the middle of Attitash Mountain and then down to the base of Attitash, and lasts about 1 or 2 hours. There are single lines or double lines in case you want to do it in the company of your family or friends. Without a doubt an excellent way to enjoy the nature of this state.

This Conway County-based company offers kayaking on the spectacular Saco River. These trips are ideal for those who are beginners, since during the summer the river water is only 1 metre high, and its rapids and sand swings are fun but not too daring. And don’t worry, there are instructors on hand for kayaking lessons before you take to the water.

It's in Lincoln County where this park is located, and while there are many things to do here, its bike trail is especially popular. This approximately 20-mile route crosses the entire length of Franconia Notch Pass and starts at the Aerial Tramway, and as you ride your bike you'll be able to see all the wonders the park has to offer.
