In our travel guide, you will find great things to do in Fuerteventura.

1. Hidden Gem Fuerteventura: Poke Cotillo

Who doesn’t love a good poke bowl? Yes, it’s still a trend but also simply damn delicious. A Poke Bowl traditionally consists of raw, marinated fish, various toppings and a base of white rice. At Poke Cotillo, you can choose pre-made bowls from the menu or create your own personal bowl from the many different ingredients available. Fresh, healthy, tasty and high in protein, the Poke Bowl is the perfect meal after a good surf session to get your power back. The restaurant is directly on the opposite side of the Surfcamp “FreshSurf”.

2. Hidden Gem Fuerteventura: Dunas de Corralejo

Perfect spot for a long walk and some nice pictures. You will love it! A paradise of finest sand stretches along the coast in the northeast of the island. The dunes of Corralejo are located in the nature reserve Parque Natural de Corralejo and should definitely be on your to-do list. Here you will find dunes up to 40 meters high and a fantastic, almost endless swimming beach with a view of the small volcanic island of Lobos. In the dune area El Jable are two hotel complexes, which were built before it was put under nature protection, just ignore this part of the dunes and follow along the beach to the areas with Caribbean-like sand and crystal clear water.

3. Hidden Gem Fuerteventura: Olivo Corso

If you are looking for the ideal restaurant for dinner in El Cotillo, this might be the perfect fit for you. From typical tapas and fresh fish dishes to fantastic salads, special main courses and stunning desserts, you will find everything your heart desires. With its unique and cozy atmosphere, the restaurant itself (besides the food) is outstanding: a typical-Canarian building, with stones and construction material and rustic furnished with olive trees. The walls of Olivo Corso house some local artists’ works that change from time to time, giving the restaurant its museum-like appearance. So let´s talk about the food. How about some delicious tapas for sharing? Fried Fuerteventura cheese with home-made jam, garlic prawns or red tuna chunks deep fried in red mojo sauce? As a main you should definitely try the caramelized octopus! Also if you are just looking for a good drink and some snacks, Olivo Corso is a nice place to go.

4. Hidden Gem Fuerteventura: Playa Cofete

The Playa de Cofete offers breathtaking scenery for long walks on the beach. The beach is known for its tranquility and seclusion. Especially at low tide, you can walk for hours along the seaside. Due to the strong current and the high waves here, you should not go into the water. Please take this advice seriously. Playa Cofete is located in the north of the peninsula of Jandía, in the south of Fuerteventura. Reaching Cofete is not particularly easy. The dirt road is unpaved and made of sand or gravel, so make sure to have the right car. It’s the perfect spot for a day trip with a good picnic in your backpack, the mood for a little adventure and enough sunscreen for a long beach walk.
